Rewilded
garden at Knepp
Designers Tom Stuart-Smith and James Hitchmough regenerated crushed farm buildings with topsoil and sand to enable a myriad of undulating ecological conditions.
The planting is painterly, radiant and animated with wildlife. Colours fuse imaginatively, connecting with fluctuations of wind and light. Adventurous, captivating and impressively parallel to the work of stained-glass artist Thomas Denny.
Remarkable Euphorbia seguieriana subsp. niciciana tumbles artistically onto a narrow path. Spontaneity is embraced and admired by head gardener Charlie Harpur and his team.
Knepp is momentous in progressing a cultural movement motivated by diverse interactions and explorations.
